Design Features

JAM clothes have been designed to include subtle additions or modifications to allow the wearer to put on and take off with ease, and to wear with comfort.
But, our design features are so simple, sometimes it isn't clear exactly what they are..
Not to worry - below is a breakdown of all the designs, so you have a better understanding of what it is you are purchasing and how it can support your dressing.

BAMBOO TOPS

BAMBOO FABRIC
Our tops are made of 95% Bamboo. This means they're extra soft! For those that have sensory differences, wearing comfortable clothing can make a world of difference to how you feel!
But side note.. who doesn't love a super soft top?! Bamboo has a heap of other benefits such as being hypoallergenic, moisture wicking, anti-bacterial and breathable and Thermo-regulating.
ELASTANE FABRIC
The other 5% of our tops is Elastane. This is what gives it that great stretch! For those that have physical difficulties, trying to manoeuvre sleeves and necklines around arms and heads, can cause great difficulty and damage to the top. This extra stretch means no more worries about losing the tops shape, or ripping the seams when trying to stretch it over arms and heads. That little bit of extra stretch can go a long way!
FLAT SEAMS
The seams on all of our tops are flat. This is much less irritating than traditional seams. Often people with sensory differences can find small features like seams extremely irritating, so why not get rid of that?!
NO TAGS
None of our tops have tags or care labels! This just adds to the comfort of them, and eliminates irritation often caused by tags.
SLEEVE LOGOS
We've made sure our JAM logo isn't just on the front of our tops.
Why? Often people who use a wheelchair have the front of their tops covered by straps or different wheelchair accessories, making them lose the funky logos on the front! Our simple fix - adding our logo onto the sleeves so no one misses out on showing off their JAM.

LINEN SHIRTS

MAGNETIC CLOSURES

Why fiddle with buttons when you can have magnets that snap together in the blink of an eye. All buttons, including those on the cuff, have been replaced by magnets.

NO TAGS
In line with the rest of our products, we have a printed tag on all of our linen shirts. This just adds to the comfort of them, and eliminates irritation often caused by tags.

100% LINEN FABRIC
Our 100% linen fabric is super soft (comfy), breathable (cool), and looks good (fashion).

HIGH WAISTED PANT

SOFT/STRETCHY FABRIC
Our high-waisted pants are made from a high-quality cotton blend that is not only durable and stylish, but adds function by being stretchy enough to pull on with ease.

ELASTIC WAIST WITH BELT LOOPS
We’ve made the back of our pants extra stretchy by adding an elasticated waist for those who would rather pull the pants on -think trackies but more stylish. For those with fine motor difficulties (or those that love belts) we’ve included subtle belt loops so you can use them to grasp and pull on.

DROP CROTCH
We designed our pants in the drop crotch style to allow for comfort in seated position and discretion of continence aids.

LARGE BUTTONS
Our pants have front access via large buttons that are easily manipulated. This could be handy for those that get dressed lying down or need quick access to continence aids.

CHINO PANT

SOFT/STRETCHY FABRIC
Our chino pants are made from a high-quality cotton-spandex blend that is not only durable and stylish, but adds function by being stretchy enough to wear all day and pull on with ease.

FAKE FLY
A pair of chinos wouldn’t be complete with a fly, but who wants to be fiddling with zips and buttons? We’ve put a fake fly and non-functional button so you get the look without the hassle.

DROP CROTCH
We designed our pants in the drop crotch style to allow for comfort in seated position and discretion of continence aids.

INVISIBLE SIDE ZIPS & PRESS STUD CLOSURES

BLOCK & CONFETTI JACKET FOR WHEELCHAIR USERS

SHORTER BACK
The back of our Jackets are shorter than usual to prevent extra fabric bunching up between the wearer and the wheelchair. It also means you don't have to worry about trying to squeeze your hands down the back of the person in the wheelchair to push the bottom of the Jacket fully down when putting it on.

FULLY ZIPPABLE SLEEVES/SIDES
Both sides of our Jackets are fully zippable. When putting on, the zip connects at each wrist and goes all along the sleeve and side of the Jacket. When taking off, you just find the zip at the side of the Jacket and slide it up until it disconnects at the wrist. By having the sides of the Jacket fully zippable, means you no longer need to struggle to get Jacket sleeves over hands and arms with high spasticity or positioned in ways that are difficult to manoeuvre sleeves around. Did we mention the zips are covered, so the Jacket looks like any other?
OPENS UP LIKE A PONCHO
Due to the previous two features mentioned, the Jacket can be fully opened up and put on and taken off, just like a Poncho. This is what allows the Jacket to be put on and taken off with ease whilst seated in a Wheelchair. The Jacket simply gets placed over the head then zipped up! This means no more fiddling trying to move forward and back in the wheelchair to get the Jacket around the back and on both arms, as a traditional Jacket would.

VELCRO WRISTS
All of our Jackets have a strip of Velcro along both wrists. This allows the wrists to be tightened so hands don't go missing in big sleeve openings, simple as that!

NO TAGS
None of our Jackets have tags at the back of the neck. No tags means no frustration from an itchy/ticklish tag. Easy fix!

And finally..
COMES WITH IT'S OWN CARRY BAG!
So you can hang your Jacket off your wheelchair when it's not in use and don't have to go searching around in your bag for it when you want to pop it on quickly! Yippee!

MAGNETIC HOODIE

MAGNETIC ZIP
All of our hoodies feature the ‘MagZip’. Rather than having to thread the two sides of the zip ends together, both sides of the zip magnetise to each other and you can just pull the zipper right up. This is great for those that get dressed one-handed, find zips physically difficult, those with intellectual disability, or if you want to save time and energy getting dressed.
ZIP PULLER
All of our hoodies come with a zip puller threaded through the zip. The puller is in the shape of a large loop so those with reduced dexterity/difficulties with fine motor skills can hook into this loop and use it to get leverage to pull the zip up or down. It is also just a larger space to grab onto when pulling on the zipper. This puller can be removed if not required.
FLAT SEAMS
The seams on our hoodies are flat. This is much less irritating than traditional seams. Often people that experience sensory distress from clothing, can find small features like seams extremely irritating.
100% COTTON NANO-FLEECE FABRIC
Our hoodies are extremely soft and warm, thanks to the 100% cotton nano-fleece fabric. This is perfect for those that may experience sensory distress from clothing, or those that require high-quality natural fabrics for temperature control and skin sensitivities etc. This nano-fleece fabric also offers extra stretch, which makes it easier for those with physical disability who require flexibility when pulling clothing on or stretching it to take off.
NO TAGS
None of our products have tags or care labels! This just adds to the comfort of them, and eliminates irritation often caused by tags. This is great for those that find difficulty in communicating that a tag may be frustrating them.
SLEEVE LOGOS
We've made sure our JAM logo isn't just on the front of our tops. Often people who use a wheelchair have the front of their tops covered by straps or different wheelchair accessories, making them lose the funky logos on the front! We simply add our logo onto the sleeves so no one misses out on showing off their JAM.

BLOCK & DIGBY JACKETS

DETACHABLE CROPPED BACK
The panel at the back of our Block and Digby jackets are attached via a zip and press studs. This means this panel of fabric can be removed if necessary. When removed, the back of our jackets become shorter than usual, to prevent extra fabric bunching up between the wearer and a wheelchair. It also means you don't have to worry about trying to squeeze your hands down the back of the person in the wheelchair to push the bottom of the Jacket fully down when putting it on. This is great for those that will wear the jacket in the seated position, such as wheelchair users. Because the panel is detachable, if you are not a wheelchair user then it means you can still wear the jacket as the panel can stay in position and the jacket will be full-length.
FULLY ZIPPABLE SLEEVES/SIDES
Both sides of our Jackets are fully zippable. When putting on, the zip connects at each wrist with magnetic zip ends (less fiddling around) and zips all along the sleeve and side of the Jacket. The zips are covered for discretion.
This allows the wrists to be tightened so hands don't go missing in big sleeve openings.
HOODS STORED IN COLLAR
Our Block & Digby jackets both have hoods that can be zipped into the collars of the jacket. This is perfect for wheelchair users that find hoods getting stuck and uncomfortable between their necks and head supports.
