You may have recently seen  that we released our first video series called “who can wear it?”. This series was inspired by some common misconceptions we hear from customers about who can benefit from our products. A lot of the time with any Adaptive Clothing, people assume it is only beneficial for those with physical disability such as wheelchair users. As JAM is created by two Occupational Therapists, we are aptly aware of how broad disability is and therefore how many different people can and should benefit from the accessibility Adaptive Clothing provides. Not only do we design all of our products with as many different people and their dressing needs in mind, but we ensure the designs are all equally stylish as they are functional, to do this we try to use universal design principals which means that technically anyone can wear them!

Although this design strategy aligns with JAM’s values, it can sometimes result in confusion around who can actually wear and benefit from the products. This is why we thought we would release a video series explicitly providing examples of the different groups that could benefit from just one product. We started with our new Zip Access Jumper and did four videos covering blood donors, those who receive regular medical treatments, assisted dressing and extended hospital stays. You can click on the links to view each of our videos below, and see just how far-reaching the benefits of Adaptive Clothing can be. If you would like to see JAM provide videos on ‘who can wear it’ for any of our other products, let us know in the comments!
